Name a device and give it an icon

You can give an easy-to-understand identity that Network Magic uses with each device in your home network, including:

• Name it. Give the device a friendly name.
  
  Example If John has an Acme Model 1000 Series A network digital music player, you might locate and use it more easily with the name John's Music Player.

• Select the type. Select the device type (for example, a game console, a photo printer, and so on). When you do this, Network Magic automatically identifies the device with the appropriate icon (for example, for use in the network map).

Doing so makes it easier for everyone in your home to identify devices (for example, to determine whether it is turned on and connected to your network). Also, you can more easily associate the device with the information about it (that is, the information displayed in the network map's Details tab).
